The city of dreams—Mumbai—played host to an unforgettable HR roundtable on a beautiful evening. uKnowva HRMS, in collaboration with HR Shapers, proudly hosted the uKnowvantage May 2025 Roundtable at Holiday Inn, and what a memorable event it turned out to be!
The event was scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM, and right on time, delegates started arriving, full of energy and curiosity.
By 5:45 PM, the room was buzzing, yet everyone was seated, pens and notepads in hand—ready to jot down thoughts, ideas, and brilliant insights.
It was heartwarming to see professionals from various HR backgrounds come together in such harmony and readiness to share and learn.
By 5:55 PM, Ashish Gakrey, Founder of HR Shapers, took the stage with a warm and energetic welcome, setting the tone for what was to be a truly interactive evening. Without wasting a moment, he got the audience involved in a fun engagement activity: “Describe yourself as an animal.”
It was both humorous and revealing to hear HRs associate themselves with animals that reflected their personalities. The lion emerged as the most popular choice—signifying dominance, leadership, and strength.
Some chuckled while admitting the “dictatorship” trait that comes along with it!
One thoughtful attendee remarked, “We humans are animals too—and from one another, we can learn kindness, humility, and empathy.”
That moment captured the real spirit of the event: connection and mutual respect.
Mohita Uchil, AVP - HR & Reseller Sales Channel, uKnowva HRMS, in a charming and witty explanation, said she relates to a cat—independent, calm, observant, and always landing on her feet! Her presence brought warmth and lightness to the session, setting the stage for deeper discussions ahead.
Following the activity, Mohita showcased a powerful presentation highlighting the capabilities of uKnowva HRMS—a platform built for today’s dynamic HR leaders. It sparked lively discussions, and soon enough, the entire room was engaged in meaningful conversations.
Topics ranged from the challenges HRs face today, such as retention, engagement, and adapting to hybrid work, to emerging solutions like AI-driven recruitment, automated workflows, and predictive analytics in employee behavior.
The beauty of the roundtable was in its openness.
HR professionals freely exchanged ideas, pain points, and potential resolutions. Everyone had a voice. From traditional methods to future-ready tech, everything was up for discussion.
A special photo session was arranged during and after the event to capture the vibrant spirit of the evening. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and moments worth remembering. Group photos were clicked, selfies were taken, and the enthusiasm was absolutely contagious.
To add a cherry on top, exciting giveaways were handed over to the attendees as a token of appreciation from Team uKnowva HRMS. It was our way of thanking the HR community for showing up, participating with open minds, and making this event a true success.
This incredible event was led by Janmit Manchanda (VP - Marketing) with strong support from her dynamic team, including Vishal Dhuri (Video Editor), Nilakshi Garg (Senior Content Writer), Aditi Sharma (Junior Content Writer), Ronak Panchal (UI/UX designer), Tanmay Chakraborty (Graphic Designer), Ameya R Khadye (AVP- Business Development), Akash Dubey (Assistant Manager- Business Development), Shirin Nadamal (Business Development Manager), and Preeti Gadekar (Business Development Manager). Their collective efforts made sure the event ran like clockwork and was as engaging as it was impactful.
Beyond fun and networking, the uKnowvantage Roundtable became a space for deep learning and collective growth. Here are some powerful insights and reflections that emerged:
1. The Shift from Tactical to Strategic HR
Many HRs shared how their roles are rapidly evolving from being policy enforcers to becoming strategic partners in the business. HR is no longer limited to back-office functions—it now plays a crucial role in shaping culture and business outcomes.
2. Employee Experience is the New Employer Brand
The discussions reinforced that organisations must invest in employee experience to retain top talent. From onboarding to offboarding, every touchpoint matters. Personalisation, transparency, and trust-building are top priorities.
3. Technology as an Enabler, Not a Replacer
While automation and AI are hot topics, HR leaders agreed that technology should augment the human side of HR, not replace it. Tools like uKnowva HRMS allow HRs to focus more on people by taking care of repetitive tasks.
4. Peer Learning is Invaluable
Perhaps one of the biggest takeaways was the value of peer learning. Real conversations with fellow HRs sparked new ideas and provided comfort in shared struggles. Everyone walked away with at least one actionable insight to take back to their organisations.

As the workplace becomes more fluid and hybrid, HRs emphasised the need to be agile and adaptive. The ability to quickly respond to change while maintaining a human touch will define successful HR functions moving forward.
Once the discussions wound down, the delegates were gently invited to a wholesome dinner spread. The atmosphere turned casual and joyful as people broke bread, laughed, and shared stories.
It was clear that bonds were being built beyond business—fellowship was taking form.
No event is complete without capturing memories, and so, the evening ended on a cheerful note with group photographs and warm goodbyes.
Before leaving, each delegate was encouraged to share feedback, which overflowed with appreciation for the smooth execution, fun format, and valuable discussions.
