Form 10C

What is Form 10C?

Form 10C is an Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) form used to claim benefits under the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). Employees who leave their job before completing pensionable service or before reaching retirement age can use this form to withdraw pension contributions or obtain a scheme certificate.

Form 10C is commonly filed when an employee changes jobs, leaves employment, or wants to transfer pension benefits for future use.

Who is Eligible for Form 10C?

An employee can apply for Form 10C if they meet the following conditions:

  • They are a member of the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS)
  • Their age is below 58 years
  • They have left employment before completing 10 years of service
  • They have completed at least 6 months of service
  • They have not yet claimed pension benefits under EPS

Employees with more than 10 years of service are generally eligible for a Scheme Certificate instead of pension withdrawal.

What Benefits Can You Claim with Form 10C?

Form 10C allows employees to claim:

  • Withdrawal benefit from the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS)
  • Scheme Certificate for retaining pension benefits
  • Pension transfer benefits when changing jobs
  • Family pension-related benefits in eligible cases

The form helps employees preserve or withdraw pension contributions accumulated during employment.

Types of Claims Under Form 10C

1. Withdrawal Benefit

Employees with less than 10 years of eligible service can withdraw the EPS amount accumulated in their pension account.

2. Scheme Certificate

Employees with more than 10 years of service but below retirement age can apply for a Scheme Certificate. This certificate helps carry forward pensionable service to future employment.

3. Retention of Pension Benefits

The Scheme Certificate also helps employees retain pension benefits until retirement age.
